Rev. Christopher T. Little

Hello, my name is Chris Little and I would like to take a brief moment to introduce myself to you. I have been a pastor at Mt. Pleasant since 1996. But that is the end of the story…May I go back just a bit?

I graduated from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, PA in 1987 with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering.  I began my career as an EE in the Washington DC area working as a civilian for the Navy as a research and development – field test engineer. I loved my job.  I loved my new wife, Keri, and the life we were building together. The reason we moved from that work is because of the importance that we put on family.  Frankly, Keri and I were concerned about raising a family in an area with so much violence playing out on the news every night. I took a position working for the Army maintaining the Navy’s missiles – this is what brought the Little family to Chambersburg.  It was, however, a short lived position because of reorganization within the Government.  I transferred from one Army facility to another; the new position had me working in computer networking and communications.

When we found ourselves finally in a house in Chambersburg (not an apartment in D.C.), we started looking for a church to call our own.  Mt. Pleasant was the first and only church we tried.  It has been our church home since 1992.  There were wonderful people taking care of our children in the nurseries and Sunday school classes, Bible based preaching and some pretty good music which we enjoyed.  The Chambersburg area and the Mt. Pleasant church have absolutely become home!

While I was worshipping at Mt. Pleasant and working for the Army I received God’s call upon my life as He pressed me towards becoming a pastor.  I started seminary in January of 1995 and by the middle of the next year was a full time pastor at Mt. Pleasant. For five years I worked full time and pursued a Masters degree at the Evangelical School of Theology in Myerstown, PA.  In May of 2000 I received my degree with honors.  In August of 2000 I was ordained. In the fall of 2001 I became the Sr. Pastor of the Mt. Pleasant Church. God’s plans are bigger and better and sometimes faster than any plans I would develop for my own life.

As has been stated, family is very important to me. My wife and three children are the most important people in the world to me and I want to do everything that I can to maintain our relationships through the wonderful school age years.  Keri, along with Samantha, Christopher, and Tabitha are my family, they are my world.  But we also belong to God’s family – specifically the family of God that worships at Mt. Pleasant. This sense of belonging is what is missing in too many lives. What a joy to find so many warm connections at church. There is room for you in our family! Come join us as we are in the process of Building, Belonging and Becoming the Family of God.

If you have any questions concerning the family of God that worships at Mt. Pleasant, please feel free to get in touch with me at the church.  I would love the opportunity to get to know and serve you. May God bless you as you continually search for ways to love God more!

Some information about another side of Pastor Chris…

Pastor Chris has thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the lives of his children. He was blessed to be able to be involved up to his eyebrows in coaching soccer for the elementary rec league, coaching basketball for the fourth and fifth grade girls and boys teams, in helping out with Little League and still is involved with helping to coach Scotland Softball.

Pastor Chris is married to the greatest woman in the world – her name is Keri – and she is God’s best gift to him.  She is a tremendous partner in life, in marriage, in parenthood and in ministry. It is a joy to be married when you can be married to such a beautiful person as Keri Little!

Pastor Chris’ oldest daughter, Samantha has beautiful red hair, thoroughly enjoys running track and cross country and absolutely excels at playing the trumpet.  Samantha is anxious to get her driver’s license (yikes), is starting to think about college (gulp), and is preparing for her first missions trip to Mexico (yeah!).

Pastor Chris’ only son, Christopher loves to be on the soccer field and plays on the Jr. High School team, he plays the saxophone, but is even better on the piano. Chris absolutely thrives at the opportunity to perform on stage, and, by the way, was born a Steelers fan! Way to go Steelers – finally one for the thumb!

Pastor Chris’ youngest daughter, Tabitha is blonde and beautiful. She is a wonderful athlete – playing both field hockey and softball, plays the flute and is hands down the most organized of the three.  She is especially gifted in working with children.  Oh and she really enjoys making and baking in the kitchen!
